The big day!
This photo was a bit tricky to get and the cake looked a bit mangled after it as the main aim of game was to squidge little fingers in the icing. A good afternoon was had playing with new toys, trying on new clothes, examining baby Anais (five months old, Tui was very intrigued) and copying Jordan (15 months) walking a little. Had a first taste of icecream which went down really well after the initial shock at the coldness of it, and of course chocolate cake was also put away efficiently.
And now Mum is going to have a wee lie down!!

Harper sweet tooth lives on!!
Well happy birthday Tui babe. Hip hip hurrah!
What a lovely cake with flowing melting icing on it. Are you sure granddad wasnt in the background somewhere - he would like that cake a lot, and as a young man loved experimenting with making difficult kinds of cakes and brandysnap kinds of things.!
I can see that times are changing - In the olden days when your mother was a child, they could only afford one muzzie at a time, and it had to do for every occasion.
Auntie Alexandra made a big demonstration by way of complaint with her one and only muzzie one day (when she was about two and still going muzzie strong) She actually let hers go out the window of a fast moving car. Regretted it badly of course, as it was beyond return - and ohhhh the tear and screams!!! So you are very smart having a whole wardrobe of them!
Well there was a bit of family history for you, that great aunts are quite good at reciting. Of course there are oodles of stories -a whole treasure chest of them - and masses of things like that to look forward to in the years to come.
lots of love to you and Mum
